Veteran Taiwanese singer-songwriter Zhao Chuan will bring his “When We Were Young” concert to Resorts World Genting on 14 November 2026. The Malaysian stop places the artist behind hits such as “I’m a Little Bird” at one of the region’s best-known hilltop entertainment venues, roughly an hour’s drive from Kuala Lumpur city centre.
What can audiences expect from the show?
Zhao Chuan, a defining voice in Mandopop and Chinese rock since the late 1980s, is expected to draw on a career spanning more than three decades. Audiences can anticipate a full-length concert built around his signature ballads and rock numbers, though the final set list and any guest performers have yet to be confirmed. Fans familiar with his catalogue will recognise the concert title’s nod to the nostalgic themes that run through much of his work.
Where is the venue and how do I get there?
Resorts World Genting sits in the Genting Highlands of Pahang, on the outskirts of the Klang Valley. Most visitors travel by road, either by car or by coach and shuttle services that depart from various points in Kuala Lumpur. The resort’s cable car system, Awana SkyWay, offers an alternative route up the mountain, connecting the mid-hill area to the summit. Public transport options such as the LRT and MRT serve Kuala Lumpur and its suburbs, but they do not reach Genting directly, so onward road or cable car connections are required. Journey times can stretch longer on weekends and public holidays.
What should attendees planning a KL trip know?
Genting Highlands sits at a high altitude, so temperatures are noticeably cooler than in Kuala Lumpur, particularly in the evening. Visitors should allow extra time for travel on concert day, as queues for transport and the cable car can build quickly. Those combining the concert with a city break may find it practical to stay in Kuala Lumpur and travel up on the day, or to base themselves nearer the resort. Further details on ticketing and show timing are expected to be announced closer to the date.
